Need Help?

Pets,CBD and the Rules.

We cherish our pets deeply, viewing them as integral members of our family. As loving owners, it is our duty to ensure they maintain optimal health, which in turn fosters a strong bond of trust between us and our beloved companions. Our pets bring us immense happiness, and we strive to provide them with the best care possible. We want them to understand how much they are loved, and it warms our hearts to know they care for us in return—though, admittedly, cats can sometimes be a bit more aloof.

Imagine the possibility of enhancing your pet’s quality of life simply by incorporating a hemp product into their daily diet. Could this natural supplement help soothe some minor discomforts and boost their overall well-being? The idea is certainly worth exploring for those who want to ensure their pets lead happy and healthy lives.

(CBD) We’re excited to share some important information about veterinary products that contain Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD. Currently CBD products should be treated as veterinary medicines and regulated accordingly. This decision is based on the fact that CBD fits the definition of a veterinary medicine as outlined in the Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMR).

Essentially, any substance that can be used or given to animals to help restore, correct, or modify their bodily functions is considered a veterinary medicine.

Marketing Authorization for CBD Products

CBD products intended for use in animals will need to have a marketing authorization before they can be sold or supplied in the UK.

Flora Fusion is working with statutory agencies to ensure our compliance with current legislation with a view to continuing our many years of service to our customers and their pets.

What does this mean for existing Flora Fusion Pets customers?

Whilst we are negotiating our application for registration of our products for animal use, sadly we will not be able to market or be seen to market or stock any product for pets on our website or stock holding operations.  However, we are taking immediate steps to secure a speedy solution in the future with a VMD registered product for your needs.

But what do we do now?

Since there aren’t any authorized CBD products for veterinary use at the moment, a veterinarian may prescribe a human CBD product that has been legally obtained, following the guidelines of the prescribing cascade. However, it’s essential to remember that giving an unauthorized CBD product to an animal without a vet’s prescription is against the rules set out in Regulation 8 of the VMR.

Please feel free to contact us at Flora Fusion to discuss further what this means and how you can navigate product accessibility during our application period. We look forward to hearing from you
